We have had such a problem with yousendit.com. It took us over 9 months to cancel our account with them. All the while they were taking out their $9.99 per month. After several others tried I finally had to call them and suggest that the California Attorney General may have something to say about their business practices. These are signs of an unscrupulous business that does not deserve our support.

You can use rapidshare.com or megaupload.com. The file limits are at least 250 MB. The instructions are fairly simple and you can have multiple files. Suppose you have a 1GB file, make it into a split archive using 7zip and send it in 5 parts of 200 MB each. We do this all the time at work, although our files are usually under 500 MB.

The best part is it’s free, just expect to upload all night long.

Foam-core, like art supply stuff. It’s light and usually does not warp like cardboard can. Actually I sent someone to get it, so I don’t know where they went. But I think it was home-depot.

I second that. I read the articles on tomsharware.com and there wasn’t much, if any, performance gain. I would look into building your own, in the high-end market ($1600+) you can save a lot of money.

I have custom built my last 3 machines and have not regreted it for a minute.

I use a 3 x 4 board from home depot and on the back I have a color card that has 20 or so colored squares on it, just in case I need to make any corrections.

I have a 64 bit machine with 12 GB of memory, i7 920. I am using 8 cores. Great with mpeg, AVC, etc. Slow with WMV. It all depends on how the codec was written.
