I’ve in,y got the usual app debugging thoughts…
I guess first question is does FCpX successfully launch other apps? If so, then does yor script work when launched on its own? If so, then I have no idea. Maybe check that your script is saved as an app rather than a script?
I wrote something similar a while back although I haven’t used on a while. I used Automator and the notification centre to show the alert and Growl/Prowl to display the alert on my iPhone.
Probably not much help but unless some Yosemite update has changed the way your script execute, it should work for you.

Why export the video out of Ableton at all? Just export the audio track and drop it back into your FCPX project.

If it was the performance setting it shouldn’t affect rendering but the OP says it rendered blurry. Maybe try a new project or library and see if it’s just something weird with that particular timeline?

I can pretty much guarantee that the more libraries you have open, the more you will kiss your editing performance goodbye. Not to mention it can become a visual mess. I might have five or six open in extreme cases but I close libraries at every opportunity.

Not entirely sure I follow what you’re doing… effects are controlled and deleted using the info panel. Keyframe are added and deleted in the Video Animation panel.

You can save text styles that include drop shadow, font, colour, etc. Then you can just apply the style to any text you’ve selected.

You might want to try Post Haste from Digital Rebellion. I use it to set up all my new project folders and for me that includes an empty FCPX library. I’ve just updated the default smart collections in my template library and I’m good to go from now on.

Everything’s running fine on my 2012 27″ iMac although it only has a 512mb graphics card so i get a warning that the new 3D stuff won’t work properly. The than that FCPX seems to be much faster.

Not to mention that making the colour board an effect actually makes it 100x more useful.
I’ve been editing a project with footage from a two day conference and the generation of audio waveforms is definitely much faster. Yesterday with projects of 2hrs+ I could go grab coffee while FCPX sorted the audio waveforms out. Today, I only make it as far as the coffee machine.

Yeah that would have been good. I was hoping for more in 10.2 but it seems much snappier to use and that’s never a and thing.
