These guys seem credible. $100/:30 spot and $400 for a 5 minute video seems pretty fair.

Mick,
There is an interesting film called “Confederate States of America” which was screened at Sundance and well received. In fact Spike Lee signed on as EP. It is centered around the concept that the Confederacy won the Civil War. I would deem it a good alternative, and I am certain the Director would love for a 4th grade class to see it… go to https://www.csathemovie.com/ and click on the picture of Spike Lee. This is a sly, tongue in cheek effort by a black University film professor, so even tough you might think it goes too far, keep looking into it. I am uncertain how you could purchase it, but I am sure there is a way to get a legitimate copy.

I see the potential for a train wreck here. Any way to find someone more qualified and experienced to sub this out to? In the end, it then gets done right and you are the heroine by pointing them in the right direction. There are many big multi-camera video companies around which you can hire and then be the producer. Just find someone who feels like the right fit… someone who will guide you along and teach you what they can about these kinds of projects without making you feel like an idiot. I suggest you pass on this but try to land another similar simpler gig and build up to it…
IF you take the job… create a generous estimate and add 25% at the bottom and simply call it a contingency line. I find most clients understand that amount will fluctuate and they feel like you are still being honest with them. If you come in under that amount, you look good too.
Good luck!

If you do not already know about this trick, double click your title to make it appear in the viewer window. Be sure the “center” parameter in the motion tab of the viewer window is on an even number: 2, 8, 164, 228, etc… (in the right box, which determines your vertical position). Odd or partial numbers yield soft titles evey time. You’d think they could just design a way for the title to “snap” to the even numbered lines, saving this hassle.

Thanks everyone. I am talking about only the rider and certificates I need when on location using rented 16, 35 and HD gear, plus all the lighting and grip. The “Loss Payee” and “Additional Insured” stuff. We have our own insuraqnce for the gear we own, but those policies do not cover rented gear. the http://www.gearinsurance.com people look like a good fit.
Thanks again!

Are you asking whether to export all tracks to separate .aif files? That would be best with 3+ tracks in your master seqence… give each the identical “range” and you are good…
