Jan. 1 is only a week away! And if you do broadcast video you know what that means!

I was wondering what kind of captioning solutions people have put together out there? I know there isn’t much available for FCP users on a budget. We’re currently paying somebody $300/half hour for captioning. We’re also looking into the MacCaption software, but it seems to be geared more towards Avid and Media 100 users. Any thoughts?

These guys seem credible. $100/:30 spot and $400 for a 5 minute video seems pretty fair.

We use the MacCaption software – it seems to work well for us. It took us a little while to get the workflow down, and you’ve got to schedule in plenty of time for captioning now, but the results have been satisfactory.
