Video is pretty much limited to frame movements. But, it would be rare that sync within one frame (1/24 to 1/30 of a sec.) would seem “off”. Most people don’t even notice lip sync that is off by 2 frames.
Maybe you just worry too much ;>). Judge the A/V sync by actual playback, not by the audio waveform display.

QuickTime has many options for what you mention.
Uncompressed: Animation codec at 100% quality is safe, though the files will be big.
Some of the other video codecs in QTime are not cross-platform. Most are, though, including photoJPEG, PNG (also lossless), Apple YUV.QuickTime can handle up to film resolution.

For one thing, check the audio specs again. It is probably peaking at -10 to -8 dBFS (minus DeciBels Full Scale). Digital audio units don’t go above zero, but analog does. You should be able to add a compressor/limiter effect to limit the peaks.
If you are not familiar with using waveform displays, the best thing would be to add a “broadcast limit” filter to the whole thing and hope for the best.
Check your field order. (should almost always be lower first for NTSC).
As you shot in 24p, check that you introduce pulldown correctly.
Check what codecs they accept. I’m guessing they want a DVD-ROM, not DVD-video. Native QuickTime should be OK, but confirm. Apple Yuv is universal, as is Photo-JPEG. P-JPG at about 95% quality will save a lot of space and still look quite good.good luck with your submission.

I wonder if it would work if you did a re-install (or did a “repair”) of the AJA codecs after installing the BM codecs?
I’m interested, as I have some older material done using a DeckLink system.

I’d say the optimal scan rez is however high you can afford to get it, up to 4K. You can always downsize the scans later for a particular use, such as SD video.

OK– I’m a bit slow on the pickup. Looks like they were added over a month ago. But, 3.0.1 does let me work with anamorphic SD in Premiere. Seems stable so far…

I’ve been looking at the Convergent Designs box (I think it’s the SD-connect) for a similar reason… they have a forum here on the Cow.
Seems to be a good combination of best vs. cheapest, but that depends on your needs.-jeff

Oh, sorry– I thought it might be an NTSC 480/486 issue. I don’t have a guess as to what would cause that in a PAL project.
