To my knowledge, there is no such thing a 1080 59.97 i. 59.94 fields per second is 29.97 frames per second. Are you doing broadcast? That would be 29.97, commonly known as 1080i30.

A bigger issue might be : what are you shooting with?

In Pro, you can drag the divider between video and audio tracks, and also drag the dividers between audio tracks. You can get a reasonably large vertical space this way, although i wish you could zoom vertically for audio edits…

Yes, if the levels are clipped, it’s gone forever. You might try a luma or color key, replace with a flesh tone + noise, but it is likely to look artificial.

What is the end use you are compressing for? Web posting, archiving, exchange?

You want to specify DVD-video, not DV, if you are trying to make a “playback” DVD. That will use MPEG encoding.

QuickTime with the MPEG codec might do it. I haven’t tried myself, but maybe you can get higher data rates that way.

Do you have video I/O hardware that supports HD720/60 ? You should have a preset for it in that case. As far as I know, HD720/60 is not an HDV format.

If, as you say, the “whole graphic” is moving up and down, then I would check for– fractional pixels sizes after import, stray keyframes, mis-matched frame rates, or other things that might induce a rounding error in the image placement. That’s what the symptoms sound descriptive of.
