Thanks Rafael. I am starting to think I need to reinstall Quicktime, perhaps a bad export component… Just not sure how to reinstall QT pro… any ideas?
thanks

Ok. So here’s the latest. I have just reinstalled Final Cut Pro. Ran the update to 6.0.5. Attempted to export from a Prores Timeline (completely different project and sequence than tried before) and once again I am getting quicktimes with no timecode. I open them in Quicktime and instead of starting at 59;55;00 it starts at 00;00;00;00. When opened in Quicktime player there isnt even a timecode track.
It seems to be something with this box. I have just went across the hall to another machine on the same Fibre network and successfully exported with timecode from a project that wouldn’t export properly on my machine. ARGH~
Any ideas out there? thanks

Thanks. I am not exporting with conversion. I am exporting a plain ole Quicktime Export with current settings which happen to be Prores HQ from the stock loaded sequence preset. I have just trashed prefs and tried again no luck.
What am I missing here? Sequence start time is set to 59;00;02 DF just like countless others and now a second project is doing the same.I guess its reinstall FCP time… argh
anyone else?thanks

Same problem here… Makes me feel like Im working on a PowerMac 9600 AVID, not a 8-core mega giga flippity flop computer..
UGHHHH Its things like this that really go “Really??” I guess Im wondering outloud, again, like so many other people, what the long term plans if any for the “PRO” apps..

Many thanks that did the trick! That’s at least worth 2 beer credits, put it on my tab. I dont know where you found that document on their website, but I certainly didnt see it on the KONA LHe / LH Support page.
Thanks again.

Just chiming in here.. I recently ran across this issue. HDV 1080i using AJA Kona 2 to downconvert. So I selected selected the correct setting in FCP Video Playback settings (AJA Kona 1080i 29.97 8bit(1920×1080). Whammmo when monitoring the down-convert titles were all ghosting. Even detail in my program was ghosting. Called AJA, they as always were extremely helpful, we replaced the Kona2 card. Same thing.
I tried, FCP Video Playback settings (AJA Kona 1080p 29.97 8bit(1920×1080). And the ghosting went away. What is up with that! ? So my options are reduced to laying out a 1080p program (which is actually interlaced) or one that has ghosted images. I chose to lay out 1080p as it was the lesser of two evils…. hmmm this reminds me of another lesser of two evils dilemma to be hashed out on Nov. 4th.

Are you using Sony’s XDCAM transfer?

[rene hazekamp] “4000 hours, wow. I don’t think you have a storage problem. I think the problem is just viewing the whole bunch. And do you really have 4500 16 GB sxs sticks ? wow again
Or else what kind of backup plan do you have ?Ren Hazekamp
(as for now 2 sxs 8 GB stick owner)

I and I think Mark are referring to the XDCAM HD disc based system, not EX1/3 sxs cards. The XDCAM discs themselves become the archive… pretty brilliant hu? BTW – nice website!j
