I’m using a 6TB lacie big Quadra. I intended to use it as media storage, but I just use it as time machine for my internal RAID.

The eSATA connection on my machine gets about 80Mbps…my internal RAID is getting about 280Mbps

I’m running internal 3 drive raid 0. 4th drive is system drive. I Have external lacie as time machine backup. IMO I don’t see a need to waste internal bay on time machine…it could be connected USB for all purposes and run overnight.

Also, in my experience…I was editing in standard video frame sizes and placing them into designs that were of strange shape. So edit the piece in FCP…export as video element, then place into weird design shape. Thats how I’ve done it, and seen it done.

This case may be different…but that’s my experience.

I’m pretty sure you’ll find the .976 to be the issue. Fcp has always abbreviated it, but in fact works in 23.976

After effects does a way better job of retaining links and regaining them. I wish fcp would pick some ideas from how effective that linking process is. Their basic function is VERY similar…

Its purpose is to play out to external monitor AND on the desktop. So, when u press play, the only video in motion is on your external monitor?

On my machine with my matrox MXO2 running XLR out to my Mackie 1202 I can’t interpret it at 2x speed. I’m curious if I would experience something different with a KONA card?

I cut news for years and EVERY system I’ve ever worked simply speeds up audio. I’ve gotten into the habit of scrubbing in high speed through my footage in XDCAM transfer because it simply speeds up the audio…it doesn’t break up like in FCP. I hope they could fix this in an upcoming version…I’ve submitted it as a “feature request”.

Thanks for the ideas…here’s one for you. How in the world do you listen for an incue on a sot in fast forward? The audio is so broken…I cant understand it. I don’t see the point of having scrub if you cant understand what ur scrubbing.

Looks like a pretty minor update.

Will those video cards work in my 2009 Mac Pro? I’d be interested to see a video card that can support dual LED’s with MiniDisplay Port.
