if you shot it already i believe i read a trick you can do with the echo filter and some rough image manipulation and compositing some dupes.let us know if you find what you are looking for.

go into trim mode and just hit the delete button. works on all video matchframed edits and all audio matchframed edits with no gain changes betwen the two segments.
but if you need to do it across a ton of them then the menu command is the best.j

you could also “lock” the clips so that no matter what project its in it wont be deleted.

i’m almost positive that the animated splatters and drips you see on tv are mattes and animations created from stock or original footage of actual paint being shot as it splats and drips.
just my 2cents.

try doing a search here or over at the trapcode forum for a clip that “belief” did using trapcodes particular to replicate a crowd with a small number of people. was very impressive.
