I noticed a BCC filter called “save with Alpha” or something like that. Have not had a chance to try it though. Wondering if this picks a proper file format and all?

Sorry, I should have said make it a Video Output FX which applies the effect or filter to the entire project. Of course you may have to keyframe it in and out if you don’t want that filter on other events in your project.

If you already tried to drag the order of the pan/crop and filter which should fix the problem, you can try adding your filter to the project instead of the event.

Yes, it is 64bit. I didn’t know the veg files were different. It’s also V11 which may be the problem. What version of Vegas are you running?
Not sure if this image helps (click to enlarge). There’s a blue and a white glow. The lens flare is added as a project FX.

Here’s a quick and dirty experiment using the approach I mentioned above where I duplicate the keyed talent track and applied brightness/contrast filter with glow and a flare to simulate an effect similar to, but not nearly as nice, as the one you’re after. But it may give you some ideas:

Vegas does not have a particle generator. That’s why I suggested a stock media clip (like smoke) that you could colorize or modify with filters to match the look you’re after.
You might also try playing with lens flares or rays filters.

You’re most welcome, having figured out Vegas through a solo school of hard knocks my workflow tends to be simplistic. Though through forums and mostly watching tutorials I’m finding much easier ways of doing things all the time. But I still use the black generated media fade out all the time. You can also add transitions to the front end of it like iris, etc.

January 24, 2012 at 5:10 am in reply to: ‘Multiply’ blend mode applied to layer problemNot sure I understand your problem but my first guess is to go into Pan/Crop and make sure you set the event to Match Output Aspect ratio. Then resize your image the way you want it. Then when it moves off screen it will do so at the edge of the project’s screen not the images…. if that makes sense.
