I have a black and white image. The part I want is the black part, so I use the multiply blend mode, and just like in After Effects it gets rid of all the white, and leaves me with my black image.

But there’s a problem in Vegas 10. It gives me my image, but it wants to make the rest of the frame black, and when I move the playhead off of the image event, the entire frame is black.

this makes me think that the blend modes for vegas are not set up so correctly. I have never had this problem-whether its in PS or AE.

The closest I’ve gotten to fixing the problem is by turning off “maintain aspect ratio.” This leaves me with a black border and attempting to crop just makes it bigger. i’ve also played around with “match output aspect” and “match source aspect” settings and it doesn’t fix that problem.

Please help! I got sony vegas for editing faster than FCP and so far it’s not happening!

Not sure I understand your problem but my first guess is to go into Pan/Crop and make sure you set the event to Match Output Aspect ratio. Then resize your image the way you want it. Then when it moves off screen it will do so at the edge of the project’s screen not the images…. if that makes sense.
