I have the same problem, occurs after render too. No solution found

Connect the hard drives to one of the imacs, then connect rhe imac’s via ethernet cable and enable sharing.

I had the same thing happen towards the end of my last project. Not only could I not reimport a clip I deleted but any new media wouldnt show up as well. A new event solved the problem but it makes me nervous about the stability of FCP X

Same thing just happened to me. You need to select “none” for the clips inside the compound clip as well as the compound clip its self

Try aaf adobes xml is unreliable

I have experienced this as well. Not cool when wearing headphones late at night! Not sure how to solve it but so far it only happens at home with out a video i/o. Do you have any cards in your system?

When you change the render codec to prores 4444 does it not optimise to 4444?

Look up fcpx garbage masks depending on what you’re doing green screen might be better

I use skype, just have them zip up the folder of media first.
no file size limits but it can be slow
