    HI –

Can anyone Recommend Ways to Get Other People’s Video & Media to Edit for Them?

I have a couple of people who want me to edit work for them, but I’m thinking there has to be a better way to have these people somehow get me their media online (without me driving over to their house with an external hard drive)??

    Any recommended ways/sites?

someone mentioned to me “drobox” – but would I totally need to compress the video and stuff like that to use this? – also it was like $100 for just 50g of space… which isn’t a lot of space for video…

    any recommendations is appreciated! thanks!

Everything that can handle large video files is going to cost you. If it’s too far to drive, there’s always FedEx.

    All the best,

You can Yousendit for files up to a few GB or you can set up an ftp account. But if you need to send 10 GB ship or mail a flash drive or 100 GB ship a portable hard drive.

I use skype, just have them zip up the folder of media first.

no file size limits but it can be slow

When I’m gathering assets from locals (within 20-30 miles), it’s quicker to drive over and transfer the footage – or, more typically, I’ll have them drop off a drive here, and they pick it up when I’m done with the transfer. Anything farther away, and it’s a choice between yousendit/ftp/dropbox, or shipping a portable drive. If it’s just a couple of files / GB, then download works. Anything larger, and shipping becomes the choice.

Time is money folks. And video editing pays better than a courier.
