do you have access to a 3d program? if you do you could just render out a reflection pass, using a yellow light, on some crude shaped geometry in roughly the shape of your car. then bring it into after effects and compsite it.

Change the interpolation of the keyframe to “roving over time”. Then when you drag the last keyframe it will adjust the others to evenly space themselve out.

Maybe having your “caps lock” button engaged will let you open it up and delete the effect.

Key frame the position, then key frame the scale. Make the scale smal at the start, then 100% at mid point then small at the end again

What Steve said about Illustrator makes more sense. I don’t have Illustrator so I never think of it. I should get it. How much is it?

You could make all of the elements in photoshop and save them as tifs with an alpha channel then bring them into AE seperately and make them 3d layers. Then line them up accordingly and move through them with a camera.

    Thanks for your help Dan!

It seems to be an easy thing, in theory, to do. Just assign a location (layer)to the focus distance and where ever that layer is in 3d space, it’s always in focus. I must be missing something, usually that is the case with me!! I thought that the apeture value would determine the amount(distance) on either side of the target layer that would be in focus too with a falloff at the edges?

I would try duplicating the footage then scaling up the duplicate footage to the lip size you’d want. Mask around the lips then place that on top of the original. You will have to adjust the position but it will have the same motion. You could then apply a distort effect to the duplicated layer to enhance if needed corner pin might help bring the edges into the mouth to help blend with the original better.

Not sure but it might work.
