Thanks! Is there a way to keep them moving or scaling but all doing the exact same thing at the end. I was hoping there would be a way to have them move smoothly from each individually being chaotic into all doing the same motion or scale rhythm. rather than me having to split the layers and try and to the transition through key framing I was hoping that there would be a way through an expression.

    Thanks again!

  • Kalleheikk,

Thanks, That worked. Not exactly the particle behaviour as when it was using the actual obj but it might work out…. that’s up to the client. ☺

    Thanks for your help.

April 9, 2019 at 8:17 pm in reply to: Creating a matching camera in After Effects

I have made a decision to do everything in 10mm, so it was shot entirely with a 10mm lens. I will have 3d animated re-enactments that will also use a 10mm lens. After effects will be use for shooting the still pictures. I have only briefly made a test project and set the camera to a 10mm focal length. I just don’t know if this is the correct way to do it. The real camera has some barrel distortion. Another question is, since I will try and minimize the distortion of the video footage should I even try to add distortion to my After Effects camera in order to match it?

    Thanks.

  • They move sequentially. I was thinking of doing the camera move but I need all of the layers to end up in a very specific point. The text quotes come together to form the shape of a logo.

The first few quotes have to come in at a speed that enables us to read them but then as they keep coming they speed up to the point where we can’t read them any more.

The issue is coming up with a speed for each one that works. When i set it all up and then decide to try another speed the time it take to adjust all the key frames really drags me down.

Thanks for the help so far.

I think the problem is the fact that you have some files on an external HD that isn’t fast enough. Move all your files on to the main Hd in your computer and I think the problem will go away.

For me the Hab’s died the day Ken Dryden hung up his skates.

  • I’m probably the last guy who should be answering a post on expressions but….

I think you just have to precompose the layer. then you can move it around and have it start when you need to. I’ve done it and it works fine.

  • I would just duplicate the footage. Then speed up the audio on one. Turn the eyeball off and there ya go.

There is also a text preset that simulates a wind, I think it’s called wheat field. You may be able to tweak it to get what you want.
