It looks like they used a 35mm still rig, the ones where they have multiple 35 mm still cameras setup in a semi circle and then used special software to stitch them together. I forget the name of that setup. you can rent them.

Plese forgive my intrusion but what attribute does one enter this into, position? I know very little about expressions but I try to use them when I can. I just can’t figure out where to put this.

We have 6.5 pro here at work and it didn’t come with Zaxworks. Is this for PC only?

I too though you meant vegas the editing program, that’s why I suggested Stroke in stead of going to a whole other program, sorry for my mis-understanding.

June 29, 2006 at 7:45 pm in reply to: Aharons work flow tutorial – overwrite pieces of the same file?I listend to the tutorial. Thank you Aharon, yet again!
I have a thing that bugs me about AE and this end of it. When I render out an animation I usually render out to a .mov to then import into Avid. I will watch the rendered out .mov and decide I need to make changes. I then add it again to the render que and hit render then get the error that the render is aborted due to file being busy. The problem is that I still had the movie player open, or just the file name highlighted in a navigator window. I then have to re-add the animation to the render que. It won’t let me re use the same queued item. That bugs me. If I duplicat the render I tem like you do in the Tutorial that should work then?
Thanks for reading, I feel better.

I used Stoke to create dotted lines on a map.
I drew out the shape of the line with the pen mask tool, on a solid layer.
Then applied the stroke effect. Under stroke there is a attribute called spacing which will give you the dots change it to 0%. It’s pretty easy to use. -
If you can create text in photoshop that looks like ice,(there are tons of actions to download at the Adobe Exchange Studio and I think there are some that do make text look like ice)
Then make the name like you want it. Duplicate the layer. Then using the clone tool just make a solid block of ice that same size as your name.
save those two layers as separate .tiffs then import them into after effects. Line them up so the solid covers the text. Then use the particle effect to create the ice chips as they fly off of the chisel. animate the placement of that to reveal the texts as youd like.
Using animated masks to do the actual reveal just make it match the particle movement.
Try using different shapes for particles there are shard looking ones I think you can even use the text layer so it will give the particles their color. (coloured polygon is the setting I think)
