I won’t go into too much critisism as most of mine have been addressed as well, I only had one. I really like the color scheme and the pacing. I loved the butterfly! I was confused by the two texts close together at the end. I thought the title was “Out of the Box” then the other one came on and I wasn’t sure which was which. Maybe have the “box” one occurring earlier…. I think this was really well done especially considering the time you had and the level of familiarity with AE. Great work!

I was wondering the same thing too. In Maya you can light link to objects that would be handy in AE.

The only way I think to do this is to precompose your layers. Make sure you set up your layer with the proper lighting then pre compose, then bring that layer into your main comp then repeat as aften as you need to then your main comp would consist of many pre composed layers.

There may be a better answer out there, I just figured since I’m curious about this I would ask as well.

  • I think someone here wrote a tutorial on this.

Very nice, you snuck in a couple non Calvin and Hobbes maybe? It would be cool to see an actual sequence though one that creates an animation.

    Well Done.

  • I use sounddogs.com you can they have their sound fx categorized really well and you can actually right click and save samples to try them out and if you like you can then buy the full stereo mix. They’re awesome!

A little off topic, but I think Alan should change his last name to Wondertouch. I was just looking at his signature and it just looks right, you know what I mean?

I just came back to work after lunch and still buzzing from my fries and gravy.

I agree, the 3d engine thing would be great, can’t wait till you get it out.

    Thanks!

I change my opinion. I agree with the others about it being mapped to a piece of geometry. You can tell on the move with the girl in the black and white striped shirt. near the end of the move if you watch closely her hair doesn’t have any depth near her right shoulder. It becomes very obvious that it is a texture that has been mapped.

    Well done though!
