What kind of drive where you trying to copy to?
MAC formatted should have no problem over 4 gig?
Is it FAT 32 formatted drives that will have
    problems over 4 gigs??

    How large is the file??
    Is it over 4 gigs???
    Try this:
Copy the P2 contents to the hard drive…
make a new folder copy CONTENTS and LASTCLIP.txt
and then try importing from that….

    60i and 30p are both still 29.97
This is the confusion for so many….
    24p is really 23.976….
    If I shoot 30p either 480, 720 or 1080 the
frame rate will still be 29.97…..
When you de-interlace 60i you are throwing
    away resolution…..
There are many ways to de-interlace video
but after you shoot progressive and edit progressive
you will wonder why people shoot 60i.

I think you are confusing 60p with 60i…..
    60i is 29.97 fps…..de-interlace and it is 30p…
    The HVX200 will shoot 720 60p
    the DVX100 will only shoot 60i, 30p or 24p

You can turn 30p into 24p, to turn 60i into 24p you would need to de-interlace which would give you 30p…..I do this all the time with 30p HD clips that I need to edit in a 24p timeline…
If I have to use 60i clips the de-interlacing step is sometimes a real resolution killer.
90% of my delivery is to progressive sources…the other 10% is TV spots but we still
    edit progressive…..

The DVX100 will also shoot 30p,
    try that.
    And interlacing is stupid.

On most video shots you cannot see much difference….
You will see some banding on smooth gradients,
    graphics for example….otherwise DVCPRO HD
    delivers for most projects.

Unless you have something like a Matrox MXO or
a Kona card that can downconvert HD to SD
then you cannot PB an HD stream in real time
    to an SD monitor….

All you are going to get playing
back through firewire is a still image…..

  • Did you check the CONTENTS folder to make sure all the folders
    and files are intact?
