60i is also known as NTSC 29.97. Use the regular dv NTSC easy setup.

Even if you shot 30p, you still capture 60i.

Careful with 30p.

If you decide to later, 60i can be converted into 24p but you CAN’T turn 30p into 24p. You’re stuck with what you’ve shot in that case.

That’s not a thing that everyone needs to worry about, but just something to keep in mind.

You can turn 30p into 24p, to turn 60i into 24p you would need to de-interlace which would give you 30p…..I do this all the time with 30p HD clips that I need to edit in a 24p timeline…
If I have to use 60i clips the de-interlacing step is sometimes a real resolution killer.
90% of my delivery is to progressive sources…the other 10% is TV spots but we still
edit progressive…..

60i is 29.97 fps…..de-interlace and it is 30p…
The HVX200 will shoot 720 60p
the DVX100 will only shoot 60i, 30p or 24p

Look at it this way:
29.97 is the considered the frame rate for timing in Standard Def content

HD timing is always listed as 60 frames (720p) or 60 fields (1080i)
SO the time base for HD content in North America is 60i or 60p is 59.94 — so that it can easily be down-converted to SD at 29.97 (59.94 divided by 2)

And de-interlacing an image does not necessarily make it 30p..

This is the confusion for so many….
24p is really 23.976….
If I shoot 30p either 480, 720 or 1080 the
frame rate will still be 29.97…..
When you de-interlace 60i you are throwing
away resolution…..
There are many ways to de-interlace video
but after you shoot progressive and edit progressive
you will wonder why people shoot 60i.
