The most accurate way to do it would be to trace them frame by frame and apply that tracing to your still as a track matte.

Maybe you could describe what it does. We’ll help you with AE if you do the same for us with PS.

One thing that would def add to the realism would be a ground shaking when the mortars were going off. They felt really girly because they made a lot of smoke but we didn’t FEEL them.

Also, when they get pinned in that first bunker, the camera should be a lot more “terrified-hand-held”. A lot of shakeys disorients the viewer and the are more apt to sympathize with the character.

Use Fractal Noise on a solid inside a pre-comp and set that composition as the Displacement Map Effect on your footage layer.

I’m going for an effect similar to what’s going on at Animated Storyboards (www.animatedstoryboards.com)

I don’t see anything going on at that site. Except a terrible use of flash and a lot of hard-to-read text in a tiny box. In fact, you OWE me for making me look at that site.

    Ruined my damn day.

    Try Bezier Warp.

In particular, look at Displacement Mapping. Search around for a tutorial.

Get your hands on Color. There’s no substitute. Unless you’re talking about Lustre. Even then we’re talking original, not substitute.

Get your finished program in AE. Cmd+Shift+D will split your layer into a separate one. Move to all the cuts in your program (dissolves won’t play so well) and split the layer. Then apply your color work. It’s tedious, but better than FCPs color corrector.

  • Don’t use the Illustrator vector as a motion path. Bag it. Draw your own. It will take you ten seconds.

This is a lot of work to show college graduates how to walk down an aisle.

    Short answer: No.

Long answer: Eh… not really. Maybe, but no. You’d wanna do that in a 3D modeling program.

How about the Elbow Grease filter?

That’s the one that comes from your time and talent. It works wonders.
