Is it possible in AE to make logos have the dimensions to fly thru with a camera move? (zooming thru the letter O and seeing the curves on the inside of the letter)

    Short answer: No.

Long answer: Eh… not really. Maybe, but no. You’d wanna do that in a 3D modeling program.

Thank You. For both of your responses. It sounds as if 3D modeling program is the solution. A bit beyond my capabilities at this point.

Zaxwerks Invigorator will do exactly what you want – I’ve done the same thing a zillion times.

It’s cheap, relatively customisable, easy to use and made for precisely this kind of purpose. Go buy!

You’ll see it again and again… there are several free 3D apps out there that will do something like this with ease (especially if you add the AE panache to it to beautify your lack of 3D experience). Blender is REALLY powerful, but it’s unlike most other 3D apps, so the knowledge is not very transferable… well, the concepts are.

Anyway, until you’re ready to make the plunge, I’d try some of the free stuff – there are lots of generous folks out there!

Cinema4D is one of the cheaper good 3d programs that’s fully AE compatible. You’ve seen it used for stuff like the Sports center-like tv transitions.

Buying and learning cinema 4D when all you need to use it for is giving depth to the letter O seems a tad like overkill to me!

Yup, it’s possible within AE without any additional plug-ins. Check out this tutorial right here on the Cow:
