So there is no solution without external software or plugins?

Did you try starting FCP first and open the project from there? Sometimes it doesn’t work when you try to open by clicking the proeject. Is there possibility to save aqnither copy from the director’s desktop? Maybe he can export an edl? You can use the captured footage and import the edl.

Sorry didn’t read your post well. I can’t find the dvcpro for HD25 either.

You should find a HDV firewire 25fps in your device control presets.

I tried deleting preferences also. Did’nt work out. I contacted JVC and they told me the GY-HD100 needs a firmware update. If you experience the same problem, contact your dealer or JVC in your country and ask for the need of firmware update.

Other advice i’ve got is using good (jvc) hdv-tapes. I used common sony dvm60pr3. Didn’t test with hdv-tapes yet but it is worth trying.

Anyone using the GY HD100 in 720p25? All experiences are welcome. I like to know if this is a problem on my system or settings or a final cut pro problem?

Succesfully captured a whole tape! The second tape i experience a lot of trouble. Capture aborted due to “timecode break” or “problem with the incoming stream” according to FCP. There could be no timecodebreak because evrything was shot in one take… Going to try capture this tape for the 5th time now!

Capture preset is hdv. Device control HDV Firewire Basic 25 fps. Now i’m going to try out HDV Firewire 25fps. I both tried output from the GY-HD100 in ‘native’ and 720p (is ther a difference?).
The first time i made the “on timecode break” do “make new clip” And that is what it did. Only there are supposed to be no timecode breaks. The whole tape is shot in one single take. Now it is preset to “warn after capture” and it tells me there is a stream problem which could be a tape thing.

While i’m writing this it is going well formore then 5 minutes now! Maybe device control is the bottleneck here…

I found this tiny little button just st thr tsil of the GY HD100. It is for choosing the IEEE1394 output: HDV or DV. It should be set to hdv and then FCP recognizes the device.
New problem is that it don’t capture a whole tape in one piece. Any experiences?
