Yep thats fixed it. I work with 2 monitors so had separate panels. Which I prefer rather than one big one as it doesn’t fit as perfectly across 2 screens.
Oh well. If thats what its gotta be to make it work so be it. I gotta another question but I post in a new thread as its unrelated to this.
    Thanks!

yeah I have sent two emails to customer service. Haven’t heard anything. First email was about 4 days ago or so.
I’ll check my credit card tonight. (I’m in Australia). I have a order number which I quoted in my email. Luckily I screen grabbed that page after I bought it.

    ok, I’ve still heard nothing.
I think I should start calling the credit card company and put a stop to it.
    This is all very strange.
Sent emails, tried to download app, got no reply.

    Does this company still exist?

    Hi Ron,

My saga has only just been resolved and it required going to a completely different card and raid system.

Not sure if you looked at my other thread about this on Blackmagic, some interesting stuf there…

    https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/124/868980

Since that thread I tried a Sonnet card, but the RAID box I had would not show up on it. (Although I had no crashes attaching other SATA drives and working on them)

In the end I’ve got these and it works flawlessly,

    https://www.hptmac.com/US/product.php?_index=5

    and

    https://www.siliconmemory.com.au/content/sohotankst6600.html

I had tech guys out who were scratching there heads at it. From error reports it was suggesting a memory issue. The last idea as to the problem may have been something to do with my internal raid I have and the software raid tripping out the virtual memory or something. (I’m probably way off the mark here as he was talking on a whole other level of tech jargon)

Anyway, still no final answer as to why it happened, but going with the new combo of Rocket Raid and Soho Raid worked. So I’m happy.

oh absolutely, I’ll be getting a new esata card. No doubt about that.
just was interested to know whether extra ram would effect performance of any esata card you put in there.

Thank you! I’m off to get a new card. I will report in when I’m up an running again.

    Thanks again all.
    One more question,
Does amount of RAM have an influence on card performance?
I started with 3gigs. And have happily worked with that for the last couple of years but in trouble shooting this problem I boosted it to 7gigs to see if it would help. I have the option of taking it back.

I know I’m penny pinching here, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do…

So is there any reason in respect to the sata card that I should have more RAM? Maybe not 4gigs more, instead 2 gigs? or something?

The cost saving on the ram spent could help pay the card. Thats why I ask.
Of course more ram is desirable. Just wondering specifically if it plays a factor with an esata card.

    thankyou.

At the risk of being slapped around a bit more… 🙂

do I have to get a four port Sata card? My RAID box has its own controller so I really only need the one esata port, 2 for an extra option.

So would any of these be ok?

Thanks again Bob. If you worked down here in Australia I’d get you around and give me the full Zelin make-over!
