again just a simple QT you can reference is fine. He’ll just import your audio file when you are done.

It’s funny.
They make products for audio, products for hackin video up, products for sweet compositing, even some bells n whistles for quick and easy 3d.
but they don’t make any one product that assumes we make shows start to finish. While that use to sell two or three rooms instead of one room for em, man now it sells none for em. I’m thinking releasing a soupe to nuts solution would do well for em.

You can export a QT reference if you mix down your entire sequence first. As long as you have no motion effects, this works. If you do have speed changes, lay it off to tape first then recpature your master show as one file. You can then export that as a QT reference with no probs.

delete yur mediabase data files from your the OMFI folder those clips are in. They are the two files with icons that look like little avids. This otta allow you to open that bin again. If not, you can grab the last version of that sequence fromt he attic and keep it in a new bin.

Doesnt sound like PAL will come into play this time. You can do the whole thing in an NTSC project.
Unfortunatly, you are best off then laying that show off and recapturing it for export to DVDit. While DVDit accepts QT references from Avid, at does not understand precomputes. If you don’t have motion effects, you can get away with hugeass video mixdowns for the whole piece but I have found it far less irritating to just sacrifice a generation.

google legal video levels and componant waveform monitoring and do a lil readin’.
You will be best off finding an old set of external scopes.
I still sport the old tektronix and old a goofy lookin as they are, they allow me to see my levels in real time at a glance. If ya don’t know every level of every clip you are flying blind.
Every Avid editor needs external scopes.

Promos are often cut to radio spots themselves. They are always done to audio though. Even the ones with massive SOT, a bed is laid in first.
