    Thanks for that,
Considering the type of the project (free…)
I will probably spend some time with deformers.
I will however check the plugins – thanks again.

    sorry, no real answer.
I have used stand-ins before, but not all animation parameters will transfer to the “real” object.
Try a free plugin “clone animation” (or a similar name), I remember having some luck with it.
    I’d like a stand-in feature in the C4D v.10

Render out an image sequence (or a movie) of a BW noise, duplicate the images renumber the copies in a reverse order and apply the sequence to a channel.
This will not loop, but ping-pong, which may be good enough.

in the view, left mouse drag (on the zoom icon) is changing the DISTANCE of the camera, not the zoom.
right mouse drag changes the actual zoom (as in a zoom lens), you did too much right mouse dragfing and your zoom is set to something stupid like 2mm lens.
if you are using a camera (which by the looks of the screen shot, you are probably not), then change the zoom in the parameters. if an “editor camera” then simply left drag to get far away from thr objects and then right drag to zoom to it (flatten the perspective)

  • I have been using c4d in conjunction with CAD software for arch. presenatations for quite a while now and I would recomend it.
In addition recently Maxon went to bed with archicad and produced a plugin for data exchange. considering that some of your clients are probably using archcad, c4d would be a goer.
As to actual modelling architecture (site plans, or buildings) it is possible. However I would consider a cad package for modelling (accuracy etc.) and c4d purely for rendering / animation.

June 22, 2005 at 1:02 am in reply to: Point Cloud Plugin

As far as I remember the Point Cloud plugin for c4d actually creates NULLS for each control point of a spline and allows you to animate without PLA.
As to the question, sorry no idea.

hmmm… without seeing the model it’d be hard to tell.
see if you don’t have two (or more) coplanar polygons.
or split the poly away and check the mapping (alignment and fit to object).
    good luck.

    oh, me again, sorry,

BTW, what’s the story with the 3D Noise Shader, which so many people reffer to. whare is it?
In my V.9 i have noise, simple noise, many algorythms for the noise shader, but nowhere can i see “3D noise”…?
