The Canon XHA1 is HDV and Sony Vidcap is an SD capture tool.
Why would it ask me me if I want to capture SD or HD when opening then?
If you really want to capture SD then make sure that the Canon XHA1 is in DV downconvert mode.
I would capture in HD and then downconvert but I’m having to match some 4:3 footage
Otherwise you need to use the HDV capture tool within Vegas.
Can you tell me where that is in V8 please?Thanks John,

Are they named exactly the same? If you select the mpeg first do you get video only?

Samples would be very cool Danny…I do mostly corporate work so the difference may not be a big deal for me.
