  • [Sergey Woropaew] “Is there way to save video with same quality as original?”

We need to know by a screen grab what you’ve ended up with. Also, your original material and just you’ve used to render. Oh yeah, your Project Settings.

  • [James Smith] “Can this line be got rid of in Vegas?”

I think not. I think that was most likely baked in during capture and has only reaveled as a result of Under Scanning or Overscanning somewhere in Transfer. If I look closely I can see that that blue line has “bled” into the footage. This implies it’s now part of the Video. Can you get back to the original and confirm either way? I suppose one way to reduce its appearance is to make a blurred frame or vignette all the way around. You could also try a couple of zoom in pixels widths to see. But you’ll get a softening. Also it’s possible you’ve got a tiny bit of Pan going on. Lastly, the Protected Video Frame area may just be over-zealous, and you could readjust to cut out the Frame.

  • [Don Atlas] “Any thoughts?”

    Yes.

    1) You’re working an Interlace project? Correct? Is your Media Matched to your Project?

    2) Presently you don’t appear to have saved your Project? It is appearing as Untitled, which implies it isn’t saved, which in turn also suggests you’ve not eastablished or determined 1) above?

    3) The example you’ve provided does not clearly determine the all important Frame by Frame accurate reveal, it doesn’t reveal the many frames that would have been helpful – Zoom in on those frames under suspicion ???? !

My “thoughts” are that you’ve got a rogue, single INTERLACE or PROGRESSIVE Frame remains behind after a Split which in turn is giving you that Preceding Event. But until we get that 3) I can’t be sure what you’ve done.

[Richard Jones] “You almost certainly clicked at the point where two events met together.”

I do wish there was a way to make this a USER Preference OPTION. Take it out from the default. So many people click on it and end up getting this. And Richard, yah know what? I’ve read of only a handful of people who use this feature. Personally I’ve never ever used it.

September 30, 2018 at 5:36 pm in reply to: What do you do before editing ?

I go to the camera shop. I take/capture video on the camera I’m considering purchasing. I take the SD or whatever, and make sure VP XX can use it. I’ve done this since 2002 and it appears to work quite nicely. No proxies and no need for conversion.

So, as it cured the issue, there is nothing wrong with your Timeline, then what’s left is the handling of the rendering to get to that MP4.

[Luke Gibson] “It’s a work around, not a cure, and not a very helpful one it takes almost 10 times longer to render and over 100 times the file size. “

It was not meant as a work around nor as a cure. It was and is meant as an indication that your Timeline editing does work. We call this evidence-based results. And, as I don’t have your Veg, you can now confirm it is purely your choice of Render combined with your Timeline.

Somewhere within your PC and that MP4 is why the Render process is coming up pants.

[Luke Gibson] “Uncompressed AVI doesn’t seem to be affected.”

Luke? Are you saying that Uncompressed cures the issue?
