Been giving this some further thought.
Track Header Method:-
As you had them on the same track
1] Placement you could use Track Motion. That will place the text of ALL them in the section you want.2] I just experimented with changing ALL colours of the Text. I used second CC to get the standard WHITE changed to RED. I now have ALL white text showing as RED.
3] Dupe track > offset to Track 1 and add a Gaussian Blur to the copied track.
And here is another way to try . . .
Timeline Method:-
1] Dupe the Text Subtitle Track to Track12] In the First Text Event in Track2 create the way you want the Text Event to look and make a Preset “MyTextA”
3] Go to the First Text Event on Track and apply the “MyTextA” – and YES it will be the same as your first Event on Track2, but NOW you have a Preset
4] Go to your 2nd Text Event on Track2 and Copy ALL the Text
5] Go to your 2nd Text Event on Track1 and apply “MyTextA” Preset, and YES it will have the original TExt from your Preset, BUT you still have with the clipboard your Text from your 2nd Text event. highlight the ALL Text and go PASTE!
What you have done is:
A] Created a Preset
. .and then . .
B] Copied your Original Text into the NEW preset Text events.
It sounds mammoth but it DOES work! – I think you could also streamline this by using just ONE track, as long as you copy the Text content prior to adding the Preset.

The likelihood is that you are going to have to do the changes one-by-one, however:
1] What Text Media Generator have you used? Plain SONY Sample Text, Protype Titler?
2] What is it you want to add? Colour of Text/Background? More words? Different words? Spelling?
3] Are all the Subtitles on one track? For example, 50 Text Events on say Track 5?

David, I’m interested too. I had left a project open for 4 hours unattended and I came back, it wasn’t WHITE but it WAS definitely bleached. Odd.
My “cure” was to close and reopen.

If you are finding this on ALL FXs Controls, chances are you have “squished” them out of sight. Can you ONLY see the K/F Timeline? OR are you saying that there IS a space for the controls but they are missing? Squishing or Missing?

Have you both registered your Vegas Software with SONY? As this media is MPEG, and the Main Concept CODEC that deals with MPEG needs to be registered with SONY, I’m starting to see a theme running through this thread.
If you HAVE registered the s/w, on these secondary PCs, then I am out of ideas.

– BIG clue there. Which version of VP9 you got? This was an issue of VP9a . SONY did a quick turnaround to produce VP9b . Get on the INTERNET and the SONY site and read all about it.Grazie

Known Bug. SONY is fixing it. Here’s the “workaround”:
“The work-around is: In the main (parent) instance of Vegas, create a time selection and start a render, but uncheck “Render loop region only”. You can cancel the render. Now when you edit the nested projects, the audio proxy will render fully.”
See if this helps/assists you?
My workaround was to close and reopen the MAIN Project and save the Nests several times.
