I can’t see Jay how you can extend a Subclip? Once it is set you need to go back VIA its Parent Event to adjust. As I said, the purpose of a Subclip is to make a discreet time-set length to an Event, in the form of a Subclip.
OK, giving this some further thought:
1] Right Click SubClipA on the timeline & Open Parent . . . .
2] In Trimmer extend IN or OUT or both and save as another Subclip to SubCLipA say SubClipB and right drag from Project Media directly onto SubCLipA which was on the timeline and select “As Take”.
This has the effect of making a TAKE, or alternative version to original SubCLipA, and NOW you can extend the IN or OUT and keeps with it all the FXs and stuff you applied in SubClipA
Personally I reserve SubCLips option to non-editing workflow. Meaning if I want a SET length to play with: Reverse; Non Loop; Speed Ramps . . etc . . Rather I use the WHOLE Event on the Timleine for making real edits and the Trimmer for making “Scrub n See” selections. Yeah?
BTW you can identify Regions in Explorer and Edit Detail View.

Sure, that’s one way.
but when I start editing on the TL, I need to expand the subclips for transition etc.
You can’t expand a subclip.
but VEGAS loops the expanded subclips or freezes them
Vegas is doing exactly what it is supposed to do when using subclips

If you are implying that this is an error in Vegas, then no, this is NOT an error. This is exactly what Subclips were designed to do, they are precise time duration “subclips” of the original Media Event, ensuring we have a defined length taken from within an existing Event.
Now, what I am hearing is that you now wish to convert this Subclip back to be part of the existing Event so that you can extend the IN or OUT so you can do a transition? Is that it? I should add this: Right click on on the Subclip and select “Open Parent Media in Trimmer”. This will give you the Subclip’s reference within the original Event/Clip for you to then extend. I wonder if there is a Keystroke for this?
Also, try Regions as well as Subclips. A Region you CAN expand without needing to go via the Trimmer.

3 dead pixies is not good – I Agree. When I had this, thankfully it was only 1, and then off to the Canon E.R. When you do the remapping do you use 2 tracks OR do you use 4 tracks, one for each pixel PLUS 1 for the underlying footage?
If you want to post a “still” out of the offending footage I’ll have a go? If I get anywhere I’ll send you the VEG file. What version of Vegas you working?

On the whole, yes. I have yet to have any trouble doing this. However, there maybe some plugins that have ceased development to make the jump. Or others you WILL need to download and update. But it would be financial suicide for this NOT to be available to users.
I believe the major issues have been for people going from 32-bit to 64-bit and the plugs not yet being made available in both flavours. I’ve stayed with 32-bit, and a 32-bit OS until I see more of the issues ironed-out. But that’s me.
Anyway, that’s been my experience. Why don’t you download a VP9 DEMO and see how far you get? Also read the “White Papers” for VP9 and provide yourself with some assurance/s?

John, thanks. I HAD been doing exactly that, for years with DivX and not getting anywhere. I have recently been doing the same procedure for the Larg CODEC. As it happens, I DON’T have the DivX 6.8xxx I DO have 6.7xxxx . So I went a bit further into this and found a greyed out selection of options and a big “Restore defaults” button! That did the trick. I now have DivX working from within Vegas.
Prior to this I was getting major error messages.

I can’t reply to your question, only just HOW are you able to render to DivX from within Vegas? I can’t. I have to go to the external DivX writer?

Hmmm . . .
As YOUR menu bares no relation to the DVD info, it appears to me that your DVD player has or IS giving you the run-times of your Chapters. It is trying to assist you. Now why it SHOULD appear is the question? Maybe after sometime and held in a “Standby” mode this is what you get AND that this option has been “set” via the settop box’s own menu setup. I really can’t see this happening as a result of SONY DVDA. I know on any DVD player I’ve owned/used there is a “time” or “view” option for the timings of chapters.
Have you the Manual for the STB?

So you were including SUBTITLES on the actual YouTube video? Yeah? You weren’t creating a DVD for playing in/on a settop DVD player, for playing on a TV? I believe our friend here was under the impression that as you mentioned “subtitles” that that was to do with DVD creation, and within THAT type of software you are able to mess with the subtitles. But this is definitely NOT the case, and what you are simply doing is running subtitles across the bottom of the screen as . .. subtitles!

I was unaware this WAS being exported to DVDA? Adrian was only speaking of Vegas 9? I was reading this: “In Sony Vegas Pro 9.0 i want to apply something to all the subtitles that i have already made.”
