Make sure you haven’t “Muted” the Video Track or reduced the Levels. Both of these Controls are found in the Track Header.
If this doesn’t cure your “issue” then get back here.

I’m betting that you have a FX Bypass still invoked. One of the options with this great function is that you can drag an area directly over the Preview Screen and create your own “mask”. OK, to get back to the way you want go to the Preview Screen Toolbar and select the:-
Split Screen View | Left Click on the Drop Down Menu Arrow | Select All and you will EITHER have the FX in play OR if not click on the FX By-pass Icon itself.
You should now have your FX working all over your Preview.

October 31, 2009 at 7:27 am in reply to: Sony vegas will not let me zoom with a scroll wheelCan you test this same action on another program, say MS WORD or Internet Explorer, or other s/w where the scroll wheel HAS been used to Zoom in? If it is NOT working with these other s/w chances are that your meece drivers need to be re-installed, or maybe just your USB mouse plug removed and reinserted.
The other option, and I HAVE had sticky keys throwing me silly results, is to make sure your CTRL Key isn’t faulty. Holding down the CTRL key makes my Track View go UP<>DOWN – sound familiar?
Most annoying indeed,

Use Parent Motion
1] Insert an EXTRA Track Above your Text:
Track1 New EMPTY Track
Track2 Text
Track3 Still2] Make T2 and T3 Children to T1
3] Now, for example, Use Parent Motion “move” the still + text to pan across the screen, say, Right to Left.
I’m sure you will want to get more complex than this, but it DOES demonstrate just how to “sync” Text with a Still and have them fly in close formation.
If you want the VEG (VP9c here!) just holla!

“Is there a way to “slide” a Mask [all points] en masse (L,R,Up,Down)? It looks as if only Mask anchor points can be moved.” – What is the difference between “Points” and “Anchors” – actually what is a Point?
Moving on, this is what I do:
1] The Move Freely Tool is engaged
2] The Normal Tool engaged
3] Hold down the ALT key and click on any ONE Anchor. For me, this lites up all the Anchors where I can now “grab” any Anchor and all move all the Anchors “en masse”.

Tell me, Robbie, at what point are you “viewing” this MPEG?

I’d be looking at my:
A] Project Settings
B] My Media that I placed on the timeline
C] What template I was rendering to.
D] What I was previewing the final rendered piece on.
As some supporting historical evidence of what has worked for you in the past, can you say from WHAT (media) have you rendered from and to WHAT (render template) have you successfully rendered to?
Apart from you not having enough render space on your hard drive/s I’m betting it’s a CODEC issue.

Yes, I will also add my thanks to JR for the help he has shown me over the years.
He does this with much thought, mixed in with an obvious well meant enthusiasm in wanting people to learn.
John is a very rare commodity these days.
