  • DVD Architect – Strange video + – icons on playback…

I would appreciate help fixing a minor bug that I’m getting after burning a DVD with DVD Architect and view it on TV. I see some odd video icons with + and – beside each video icon when I turn on my DVD player with the disc loaded in it. I did not spec these icons in the software. They apparently represent each video clip that is embedded in the DVD. I am using different button icons on my DVD menus and they all work fine and the video itself plays fine. Is there a way to remove these odd icons or at least put some text where the plus and minus symbols are instead of them displaying? I’m worried they might confuse the viewer.

Here is a link to what I am seeing on my TV screen on playback: https://www.realartstudios.com/bug/TV-icons.jpg

Note this only happens if the DVD is left in the player and it is turned on. Doesn’t happen when one loads it into the player.

Here is a link to my DVD Architect file structure if that helps you:

Thanks so much for any suggestions!

    Hmmm . . .

As YOUR menu bares no relation to the DVD info, it appears to me that your DVD player has or IS giving you the run-times of your Chapters. It is trying to assist you. Now why it SHOULD appear is the question? Maybe after sometime and held in a “Standby” mode this is what you get AND that this option has been “set” via the settop box’s own menu setup. I really can’t see this happening as a result of SONY DVDA. I know on any DVD player I’ve owned/used there is a “time” or “view” option for the timings of chapters.

Have you the Manual for the STB?

    Grazie

    Thanks Graham,

I will take a look at my Sony Blu-ray player manual and see if it mentions anything about this type of behavior. If anyone else has any other thoughts on this I’d appreciate them as well.
