Somebody at COW should make your response a “sticky”.
So, Broadcast are the Gatekeepers or Security Guard checking your luggage. You either get to go through or not. Where Levels ALLOW us to adjust and ensure we ARE within certain levels, legal or otherwise, and still RETAIN visual data.

Hmmm…
Back in 2002, Dazzle was the first convertor I used. Then I’d attach via FireWire, not USB. Composite to the Dazzle and then FW to my Dell Latop. Under these circumstances the camera also was not recognised. It was the FW stream that was recognised. And of course, there wasn’t any camera control!
I’m sorry, I’ve no experience via USB. My suggestions would be:-
1) Insert a FW card – and forget the Dazzle
2) Capture on the other Comp and transfer – and forget the Dazzle.

If you can do some footage without you in frame, capture this back to the timeline above or below your main, track motion it to obscure the shadows and then mask out what you don’t want.
You could try inverting the new footage si that which is dark will be lit and so on.
If you wish to give me a STILL of with and then without you I’d love to have a go.
Apart from evenly lighting it from the start, I’ve got other ideas.

Steven, you are in the same boat as us all. You aren’t doing anything wrong. It has been documented here and many other forums that while DVDA is great to use, it’s ability to estimate final fit is less than stella!
Here 3 quick tips:
1 Use and KNOW that the output files should jolly well fit on a 4.7 platter
2 Download the Marks Bitrate Calculator https://mark-s-dvd-bitrate-calculator.software.informer.com/1.1/
3 If not ignore DVDA, it overestimates, then reassure yourself on points 1 & 2 above!

What you’re doing is applying MBL to a single Track. If you have MORE than one Track then you’d need to apply the Fx to the Preview Window.
Ok, I just tested using MBL to the Track Header of Track1. Opening the Track Header I can see the Track Keyframe Diamond. When I click on the Diamond I can expand the KF track, and click on the “Magic Bullet Looks” and get the MBL Menu revealed. Then it’s only a case of deleting this from the Video Teack Fx menu.
What part of this aren’t you getting?

Is this the first capture session you’ve tried on this recent 4 month old Pc? If so, and this is the Win7, you might want to track down the driver for the 1394 card, and insure you have the LEGACY driver active.
This is a well known Win7 “default” for the 1394 card to use the latest 1394, not the LEGACY option. I had the exact same issue with VidCap NOT recognising any device.
Give it a whirl.

Use it all the time…..
Then once you’ve got it installed you can pick out separate Xcailbur scripts and plop ’em up there in the Toolbar – marvellous! So a repair is literally a single mouse click away: You see the issue > You click on the Icon > GONE!!

How about adding a TRACK1 Generated Media TEXT of saying PROGRAM LENGTH 27 MINUTES, lock it in place and reducing it’s opacity to ZERO. Now you’ll have a warning across the top if your project determining the length. Fancy that?
