    Nick, welcome to VEGAS!

“You want the pickle? You got the pickle!

You don’t want the pickle? You don’t got the pickle!”

What you are discovering, took me years, that there are several places where you can “force” a render to a format or just go with the Project Settings. Vegas “deals” with these things in what has been regarded, as a major loosy-goosey way.

    My advise?:

A] Get the Project Settings matched to the majority of my Video Media – this is a good place to start!

B] Any Media that constitutes a minority of the total and IS not creating an issue, let Vegas deal with it. If it IS creating an issue, re-render to match the the Majority.

C] Unless there is a very good reason do NOT activate the alter Media to match the render setting in Project Settings.

D] Render to that format which is needed: MPG2 and AC3 for DVD; the flavours for the INTERNET; Archiving and the need for laying-off for further future proofed – yeah right . . . – editing

I really hope this helps? You are NOT alone.

Vegas? It can be everything to everybody . . and there lies the need for a selective process.

    Grazie

I had a suspicion that that was the “issue”, hence my wanting to see the veg. Hadn’t I gone to sleep I’d have underlined the issue.

The Pre- and Post- activity, for that is what it is, of the FX-ing has been about for years. But as you have discovered, its presence and effect aren’t announced effectively. Try the same feature on Border Fx and other FXs too, you’ll be amazed, it is a very powerful feature. You may want to add some examples to explain your list.

Hmm… Any chance you’d upload that veg? Are you talking about that Vertical Line passing through the TEXT?

HAH! User error on my part . . . .

I needed to uncheck the PiP option – of course!

    UliSPro4 is full of tools.

John, I looked and looked for this option in ULISPro4 and couldn’t find it. My apologies.

Edward Troxel had written a remove FXs from Events Script. I just used it and it worked on a set of Stills.

How are you at using and setting up Scripts, Roger? Once you get the Script you need to place it in the Script Menu folder in the Sony Program Folder – for me that’s on my C drive.

I’ll attach the JS file to this. I’m off to bed . . . . zzzzzzz

    Here’s the file Link:

  • Look at VASST’s Still Motion Tool. It does Stills to Regions

  • You could use the Fit-To-Fill feature in Trimmer.

If you have several Gaps, of varied lengths, in your presentation, try this:

1/- Highlight or Select your first Gap=Region

2/- Click on a Still in your Project Media to Open in Trimmer

3/- Then select/click on Fit-To-Fill, then what ever is your Time-Gap will be filled with that Still from the Trimmer.

How many Gaps=Regions do you have?

You’d also need to apply a Motion Envelop in the Video Bus.
