I have a project that suddenly will only render in black and white. I suspect that I clicked on something which causes the file to render in black & white. When I play back the timeline in the preview window before rendering everything looks fine.

[Nick Nebel] ” When I play back the timeline in the preview window before rendering everything looks fine.”

Check to see if you have the FX Bypassed enabled in the Preview Window.

What this would do is show you the “everything looks fine” footage without the FX, but, when you come to Render it WOULD then appear.

If this IS the case, now go and track down where you have a BnW or Desat or some such colour-reducing FX in the mix.

What purpose is the motion blur. I just tried it and it doesn’t seem to do anything. I looked it up on the help but it’s really not clear to me (as usual)

You’d also need to apply a Motion Envelop in the Video Bus.

Roger, in a nutshell, Motion blur is applied to and only
visible to moving objects etc. It creates the illusion that
    something is really in motion.
Try an example by keyframing a box falling, then watch as it falls.
Now apply Motion blur to it, and watch again, and you will see.

Every clip says no plug-in in chain. I do not know where to find “FX Bypassed enabled”

Thanks all of you I found the icon on the preview window and was able to turn it off… I’m still living in an “avid liquid” world and am often puzzled by the idiosyncracies of Vegas.
