have you tried going straight to xdcam 50? I master to it all the time…very common on my part of the world. It is possible some of your sources are being interpreted incorrectly, although i’m not sure why the prores wouldn’t show them up as well, unless you have your prores set to deinterlace source clips? Perhaps the second pass of output is using the wrong field as the dominate field. It is usually upper in my world, not sure where you are at.

This sounds like a very different situation than the thread you are replying to. Yours simply sounds like MC is confused for some reason. I believe the original poster was having clips automatically form links when he or she plugged in a drive.
In either case, your edl or aaf really shouldn’t care if the footage is linked or not. I work in links and non links all the time on the same timeline. The list tells the online box what metadata to use to rebuild the sequence…clip name, reel name etc. How it got into the online box shouldn’t really matter. In most offline/online cases you need to present the source material to the online box anyway, and say “here it is”

One of the keys to ramping shots is to realize what frames are going to be removed.
As you said, 200 percent isn’t bad, but 150 doesn’t look as good. This makes perfect sense. If i take out every other frame, it is more likely to look smooth. If i start taking out 1 out of every 3 or 4 frames, depending on the motion involved, it will be more noticeable. Sometimes you just have to find the sweet spot, but pay attention to the math involved. You may also find quicker bursts for a shorter period of time works well. Coming in and out of speed changes will give the viewer less time to analyze the motion

I agree…watch some videos to learn how “editing in a computer “works. Trying to follow along is tough with youtubers, as the software versions change too much. If you need to do a step by step, you may want to invest in some classes, or yes, the Blackmagic videos and book, are probably fairly up to date. Even at that, at some point with any instructional video i’ve ever gone through, you have to be able to realize that a version change has happened, and you will have to fish around to find the new equivalent item. Sounds like a pain, but fishing around is actually a good way to learn these interfaces, but yes, watch some videos to get the concepts down first, you will then find the step by step less necessary, as you will have a better understanding of what is about to happen.

in the early days for Blackmagic Resolve, it couldn’t read 44k audio files, so i wouldn’t be shocked to hear it wont export them. 48 is not typical for video anymore.

There will always be a delay when feeding a signal through the internet. How long of a delay is going to depend on your upload speed, and their download speed. There is a buffer in place to try to mitigate this as well. Without that delay, your clients poor connection would constantly stop and start and stop and start. By adding a buffer into the mix, the encoding stands a better chance of gettting smooth playback.
I’ve tried a few streaming services (mostly free) and have actually found youtube to be one of the better ones at limiting the delay, if there is a strong connection at both end.

UME folder is brand new to Avid, so I’m not surprised a 2 year old version would understand.
Would be like showing your cell phone to someone in 1960 and saying, can you call my mom.

can you see the actual media through explorer/finder?…or are you just assuming it is still there?
