Some of my suggestions. Use the free app Mediainfo to check the spec’s of your captured video. It will probablt say it is variable frame rate. Use the free app Handbrake to convert your captured variable frame source media to constant frame rate.
Then use match media in project settings to match the converted file which should then be something like 1920×1080 FHD, 60 fps (59.940 fps), progressive. Use a matching render template from the Magix AVC or Sony Avc render formats (do not use video for window wmv render format).
See if this gives you some better results.

If it were me, I would use something like Handbrake to convert the source media from variable frame rate to constant frame rate. Bring that into a new project, match media in the project settings. Select ‘Disable resample’ on each video event, then match the render settings with your project settings and see if that makes an improvement.

I would check the timeline at the “same point (8:50 remaining)” and see what might be there that could be causing the sticking. Perhaps removing or skipping over that part of your project will permit Resolve to finish the render. That may provide some insight.

I would think your second option would do. Of course it depends on the contents of the .avi file. I’m not familiar at all with TriCaster or vMix, so have no idea what your render codec options are to put in the avi wrapper.
Vegas Pro 15 Edit likes Grass Valley HQ, Cineform and Magic YUV-RGB. All of these codecs are available for Vegas Pro with a free download with Magic YUV only costing about $9 USD.
If all you are going to use is the audio dub and bring that back into your NLE for final delivery rendering, I would provide your volunteer with a proxy type file maybe something like 720p 8 bit.
If you can get access to the older gaming PC for a test, you should be able to download a free 30 day trial of Vegas Pro 15, load it on the test PC and feed it your transfer file and test if it is capable of running your test file at full speed playback. Then you will know for sure.

When you speed up the playback, you are deleting frames from the original footage. If you use velocity to increase the playback speed of 59.940 fps by x3, it is the equivalent of shooting the original footage at 179.820 fps. However unlike an original footage filmed at 179.820 fps when the timeline is 59.940 fps you have deleted frames to achieve the faster playback. The deletion of these frames is going to make the playback look choppy.
I don’t have game footage, I use camera footage at 59.940 and when I use the velocity envelope to increase that playback by x3 (300%), disable resample, and Gaussian (asymmatric), I get what I think is pretty good results.
Perhaps other members have better settings for your footage. Or, maybe you can provide a link to a small rendered sample of your project and the issue.

Hi Sam,
Like many of the Vegas Tutorials on the web, there is some truth and a whole lot of BS. The tutorial you posted qualifies for a lot of BS. The biggest of the bunch is that, Magix created ProRes to get the best quality from DSLR’s. No Magix did not create ProRes and ProRes was not created specifically for DSLR’s. And there is a lot more BS besides this one example.

If you are encoding with Vegas you are rendering. Why are you using 32-bit floating point and why are you trying to render h265 in an avi container? Your answers will help member help you.
