Hi Nick,
My assumption is you have some text such as ‘This is My Text Sample’. It starts off in white, and over a ten second time about midway it turns to blue.
If that is what you want, this is how I would do it, fast and easy.
Place an empty video tracks above your video clip/event in the timeline. You will have the top track (#1) empty and the track below (#2) with your video clip/event.
On track #1 place your generated title text and stretch it out to about 6 seconds. Change the text to what ever you like, such as the example above ‘This is My Text Sample’. Then Copy and paste this to track #1 somewhere past where the original title/text appears that you copied from. Now change the color of the copied text/title (properties) to blue. Then grab the copied text/title (that is now blue) and slide it left until it overlaps the original and ends at the 10 second mark. The text/titles will now overlap by 2 seconds and they will start white for about 3 seconds, fade (dissolve) from white to blue for about 2 seconds, and then run another 3 seconds as blue.
If your text is actually animated to change size and/or position, then this is possible as well, just gets a bit more complex using this method. By the way, this is using the Legacy Title/Text media generator. I’m sure there are other media generators that may allow you to accomplish within their own settings, maybe something like Protype Titler or some after market add-on.

July 16, 2019 at 1:31 pm in reply to: Transistions in Sony Vegas – 5 years, Never learnedHi Derek, perhaps you should pick a collection of transitions you have seen that you like and try them out. It’s not likely that any members have a crystal ball to know what you want without you providing a better description of what it is you have in mind. On the other hand, perhaps a member can recommend something crazy looking with shakes and swoops!
Sounds like you are putting the cart before the horse, so to speak. Your video/film should have a story to tell and the transitions should compliment that story. Perhaps describe what your video story is and others may then have a better idea what you want.

Hi John,
As Graham suggest, I would save it as it’s own project. When I wanted to use it, I would open the project, then copy paste it to another open project.
I would keep in mind, that a copy and paste from any project to another will only copy and paste at the timeline (track) level. The copy and paste will not transfer any thing done on the project or media bin level. Did I explain that correctly?

Hi Tomer,
Do a Youtube search for “witness protection using Vegas Pro”, the results should help you get started.

Hi Diane,
Something in your recent avi source media Vegas doesn’t like. I think that is why Graham suggest using Mediainfo (in text mode) to compare the old stuff that works to the new stuff that doesn’t, in an attempt to determine what it is that Vegas doesn’t like. That may help you, or may not.
You may want to convert the new avi’s using Handbrake or ERMedia Kit to a format Vegas will accept.

Hi Rick,
Hopefully a member here has a specific answer, I’m not that familiar with that feature in VMS16. Being how I think most members here are Vegas Pro users you may get a quicker response to this in the Magix forums or Dereks Movie Studio Zen forum. I’ve never used the feature so have no idea how it works!!

Hi Rick,
I have found the best render is to follow the recommendation of Youtube and maybe up the bit rate and use 2 pass, as you have indicated you currently do (if render times is not an issue). Here is some information from Youtube that can be found on the web…..
——————————————————————————————————————————-
Bitrate
Bitrate is highly dependent on video codec. YouTube published recommendations on bitrate value. See the table below. If you convert video for YouTube, please try to stick to it.Best video bitrate for YouTube upload

Codec
Most suitable codecs for YouTube are H.264, MPEG-2 or MPEG-4. These codecs are used in most modern videos, so you’ll hardly need to change this parameter.
——————————————————————————————————————————-
I think form your options Sony AVC and/or Magix AVC would provide for a bit more quality than the Legacy Mainconcept AVC, and if you want to get a bit better with a smaller file size, run a high bit render from SVP through Handbrake using x.264.Perhaps other members have a more specific render recipe for HD-60p they feel is better. Also keep in mind that Youtube accept up to 4K now, so if your project are in a higher resolution than FHD, that may be an option to get get higher quality in your Youtube uploads.

July 10, 2019 at 9:16 pm in reply to: Vegas Pro 13.0 – Masking Tool – Event Pan/Crop window not matching Preview/Render (stabilization error)Hi Daniel,
Do one or the other first and render it to an intermediate file. Bring the intermediate file back into the project to replace the original and then perform the other. For example, run the stabilization on the original, render to intermediate, replace the original with the intermediate, then perform the masking.
If you do not already have it, download the free GpPro Studio program, install it, then you will have the Cineform codec (look in the ‘Video for Windows’ render format for a template). Render using the Cineform codec in at least ‘High’ or even ‘Filmscan 1’ to retain a high quality.
Or, you could download the free Avid DNx codec (requires that you have Quicktime 7.7.6 installed, which you probably have). DNxHD or DNxHQ 175-220 quality will work.
Keep in mind either the Cineform or DNx intermediate files will most likely be much larger in files size compared to your source media (assuming you are working with mp4 files), so they will requires a bit more disk space for storage.

Also Rob, if you haven’t performed a full reset in a while (deleting the cached application data), that is easy, quick, and sometimes corrects strange things from happening.

Hi Rob,
Not to interfere with Graham’s request.
How about these options……
1. Record the sound effects in wav format instead of mp3.
2. If you are downloading the effects from a library, if they are available in wav, download and us that version.
3. Otherwise, convert the mp3’s to wav format.SVP12 should ingest wav easier than mp3 and if you have options 1 & 2 available, they will be better quality.
