    Looking to figure out best render settings for Internet (Facebook or Youtube/Vimeo)
    Previously I had followed advice and used:

    New project
    Match media settings
    Quality = best

    Render as Mainconcept AAC/AVC
    1280 x 720
    Progressive
    2=pass
    Max 12,000,000
    Avg 8,000,000

    However, this is 6+ year old advice, and FB now accepts 1080
    Should I be using instead Sony AVC/MVC
    Having bought ver16 of MSP … have new codec choices

    MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4
    MAGIX HEVC/AAC MP4

    Should I move to H265 and use HEVC ?

    Of course welcome other suggestions if better.

    Hi Rick,

    I have found the best render is to follow the recommendation of Youtube and maybe up the bit rate and use 2 pass, as you have indicated you currently do (if render times is not an issue). Here is some information from Youtube that can be found on the web…..

    ——————————————————————————————————————————-
    Bitrate
    Bitrate is highly dependent on video codec. YouTube published recommendations on bitrate value. See the table below. If you convert video for YouTube, please try to stick to it.

    Best video bitrate for YouTube upload

    Codec
    Most suitable codecs for YouTube are H.264, MPEG-2 or MPEG-4. These codecs are used in most modern videos, so you’ll hardly need to change this parameter.
    ——————————————————————————————————————————-
    I think form your options Sony AVC and/or Magix AVC would provide for a bit more quality than the Legacy Mainconcept AVC, and if you want to get a bit better with a smaller file size, run a high bit render from SVP through Handbrake using x.264.

    Perhaps other members have a more specific render recipe for HD-60p they feel is better. Also keep in mind that Youtube accept up to 4K now, so if your project are in a higher resolution than FHD, that may be an option to get get higher quality in your Youtube uploads.

    Best Regards……George
