What version and build of Vegas are you using? What Generated Media Text FX are you using?
Also, to save time going back and forth with suggestions, that you have already tried, maybe list what you have tried.
And, can you post a screenshot of your project, with the Text FX showing in the timeline?

Thank You Cindy for the kind words.
I switched from Vegas Pro to DaVinci Resolve about a year ago and couldn’t be happier. But, when I was using Vegas and before I started filming in ProRes, I found it easier to transcode/convert all my source media from what ever it was to DNxHD/HR, because it was fast and Vegas had no problems handling it. Sometimes, regardless of how an NLE will process, it is better to have everything in the same codec. Not always, but it sure simplifies it.
Now I film/record using an Atomos Ninja Flame to PreRes 422 10 bit (or UHD) and sometimes to DNxHD/HR, which Resolve ingest without any issue. I also record some action scenes with a GoPro and although Resolve has no issues with that, I will often transcode it to DNx, which is a better color space match to ProRes. That doesn’t correct the GoPro color, rather just put all the source on a somewhat level playing field. I’m sure others may argue it is a waste of time, but while others are having problems, my methods has served me well pretty much problem free.
I wish you the best in your future productions.

Hi Eric,
I’m out of my element with the Sony file size restriction, but I have read user having a problem stitching their files together and ultimately used Sony Playmemories (I think that is the name of it) to solve their issue. May be worth a test.

I doubt this is going to help, it didn’t help for me. My cached application data is regularly deleted.

Hi Kevin,
Are you matching your Project Settings to your source media from the Sony?

Hi Paul,
If this is a bug, and I think it is, agreeing with you, Nick and Marco, it is one of the more friendlier bugs. I seems to only happen in 424, while in auto-ripple, when only deleting 1-2 frames and when that overlap happens it can be corrected before proceeding, or if missed it may correct itself, and if not, I doubt any eyes will see it when viewing.
At least at this point it has been pretty much been nailed down to NTSC and in build 424, so the development team has a place to start.

Hi Paul,
I revisited this issue this morning and the very first 1 frame cut and delete yielded the overlap! I continued on cutting and deleting about 50 times and could not duplicate again. I then went back the the first cut and the overlap was gone!!!

Paul,
Answer: Yes
Longer answer, VP16 B424, Auto-Ripple On, 29.970 or 59.940 fps, Quantify On or Off, I cannot duplicate the overlap issue you posted and I have also been following the thread on the other forum. I thought for certain I would get the overlap results, but doesn’t seem to be anything I do, just cannot duplicate!!

Bruce, I would agree with Ole, transcode to get constant frame rate. But if that doesn’t help you may also want to download and install the latest v16b3.
