  • Ivan, I would search for a link to download and try out the trial version of Vegas Pro 15, it’s good for 30 days. If you crashes are during preview and editing, the trial version will show you any improvement in the version. If your crashes are during rendering, the trial probably will not help you test as the trial version is limited to a maximum render length of 2 minutes.

Thank You, the AMD drivers and versions drive me nuts because I have never felt for sure I know what I have. Control Panel says AMD Software version 19.1.1, I have a bunch of Adrenalin downloads and all are 18.XX.X, and then the Device Manager and Speccy reports the 25.20.15011.1004! On top of that, I cannot remember what I installed when I installed Windows 10 on this box. Other than the thumbnail thing with 16 beta everything is working well, so I think perhaps I should leave things alone.

Thank You Ole for that information. I’m on an R9 390 card, but haven’t had this problem with anything except BM16 beta. My card is running on 25.20.15011.1004, how about yours?

    Harijono,

Can you post a screenshot of your ‘Proferences’ > ‘Preview Device’ set to the second monitor? Also can you post a photo or screenshot of what your TV looks like when displaying the wrong size?

I have no idea what may have been fixed or added, as the ‘more information’ appears to be the same as 16b1 and 16b2.

One thing, for me, that was not fixed is the scrambled thumbnail display…..

I started to get this about 20% of the time in 16b1 when starting Resolve the first time in the day. When I installed 16b2, it went to 90% of the time. 16b3 appears to be the same.

It only occurs the first time I start Resolve for the day. I shut it down and restart and thumbs are fine. Subsequent starts the rest of the day are fine, just the first start of the day! Weird. I have heard of this from only one other user, so doesn’t seem to be wide spread. Something in my system needs a wake up call I guess!

  • Hi Christine,

I think for something like this you would need a script. Perhaps something like Vegasaur would have an option for that. Or use a file naming app in Windows to batch change the original source media before bringing it into Vegas, but you would not be able to remove the extension name with this method.

Lee Doucet @ “Unless you use Image Sequences, Uncompressed AVI, or Legacy QT Framework/CODECs, there is no way to get Alpha Out of VEGAS Pro – short of using a third party tool to create assets that require Alpha Channels (After Effects, Motion, Fusion, Titler Pro/Title Studio, etc.), rendering from there, and then importing the rendered clips into VEGAS Pro.

Lee, doesn’t Magic 8 bit RGBA produce a render with alpha channel?

Personally it doesn’t matter as I use DaVinci Resolve and have no use currently for alpha channel.

  • Hi Christine,

Markers are timeline based, not event based. That’s part of the reason they are difficult to get to follow an event.

Can I ask you, why do you use region markers? Maybe their is a better way to accomplish what you want.
