OK, use the Media Properties icon above the Project Media bin. First select the clip in the Project Media bin, then click on the Media Properties icon, then select the General tab, which will display the date created…..does that help?

Hi Jasper,
If I understand you correctly, you want the hand (with a green screen background) over the other clip. Put the hand on the top track with the background under it on the 2nd track. In the clip with the hand, us the Chroma Keyer Fx to select the green color and play with the in/out thresholds until the green is clear and showing track 2. If there are parts of the hand clip which do not have the green background, use a mask in Pan & crop to crop that portion out of the hand clip.
And yes most likely you will need to light the green screen much better, despite what your camera thinks.

Hi Bob, until we can put our finger on the exact cause, could you do a bit of process of elimination? I would turn OFF GPU acceleration of video process ( Preferences > Video tab). Also set the maximum number of rendering threads to ‘1’. Then render using the Magix AVC Mainconcept format. If that cures the issue, we then know (I think we know!) it is probably something with your GPU.
More information may also help user here help…..OS system, Vegas version and build, Mediainfo (text mode) display of your source media specs. And of course (even though they are set the same) a screenshot of your Project settings and Render format template.

How much free space is on your render destination drive. You should have at 2-3 times available space than your rendered file size.

Ed, I’m almost positive (cannot not be 100% because of old brain cells!!) that I, like Paul, used 4 pin, although the cable had different ends. I guess the small end going into the camera would be refered to as mini. Anyway, the card Paul linked to seems would cover you either way. Ah, the good old days of mini tapes and firewire, things were so simple back then!

I’m not sure what Vegas does when you solo a track, it could be that Vegas just kills the previewer when solo’ed, good question above my current pay grade! You could try instead of sole’ing a track, actually mute all the tracks except the one you are working on as a test to see if there is any difference. However, I would assume (you know how much trouble that can cause!!), like yourself that when you solo the track, you relieve the engine of the other tracks. I surprised with your 4 core CPU you are not having more issues with playback on some of the events, but that would be another issue that you fortunately don’t have.
As for keeping up with the updates…..Vegas Pro 16 has an option under the ‘Help’ tab to check for updates. I haven’t had the best of luck with that feature, so I keep up with it via this or other forums.
Sorry to have asked so many questions and you have been excellent at answering and posting that information, and other than transcoding/converting your source media to a common constant frame rate, as you intend to do with Handbrake, I cannot offer much more at this point. Maybe other user here has a suggestion.

First you may want to update your Vegas pro as the latest build is 361.
If I understand correctly you can play the solo track at normal speed, correct? At what preview quality is your Preview set for? Your complaint is when your trim or move an event on a solo’ed track it lags behind your movement, is that correct?
Out of curiosity, what kind of cameras are you using to record your source media?
You have quite the mix of resolutions, display ratios, and frame rates, with many having variable frame rates. Vegas (and most NLE’s) do not like variable frame rates, and it would be best if you could covert to constant frame rates.
