Hello.. I have a new PC around AMD 2700x rx580 32g ram.. first two week ut eas All ok ..I am surprised by speed even with most demanding fx and multiple cams.. 4k and FHD rAMD VCE in Vegas 16 endering.
Even CPU and GPU resources are way above 100% used IT IS FAST..
But.. recent I have problem. It just randomly stop render. There is no freez.. no error..
It just stop count frames. Times continue to count.. but no render a single frame.. just stopped. Im not sure where stuck is… Reading or writing.. But than I can not cancel proces and terminate Vegas.. I need to end process in task manager and kill it… so I tried different locations siurce and destination drives.. no luck.. Anyone have similar symptoms?

    Hi Marco,

PLease provide us with more information about your system and spec’s along with project and source media spec’s.

How much vram does your RX580 have?

Screenshots of your Project Properties, Render Template settings, and use Mediainfo in text mode to post screenshots (or copy paste) the specs of all the different source media files you are using in your project.

Have you turned ‘OFF’ GPU acceleration of video processing in the Preferences Video tab?

Does this fail rendering at the same point? If so there may be something in the timeline that is causing the render to fail. Process of elimination will help discover what this is. It could be a transition, FX’s, or source media. You will have to watch the progress of the render and write down the last frame. Then go into the timeline to that frame and look at what is in that area a bit before and a bit after. Save your project off to a different name such as ‘Test’, then delete what you may think is causing a problem from the area of the last frame rendered, then try another render. If the render completes, you now know whatever you deleted from the timeline could be causing the issue. It time consuming, yes, but may be the only way to isolate the problem.

    Best Regards……George

Thank you for respond… My frustration continue, and I think it was a hardware problem. My system is new but something is going wrong. I have done clean Windows reinstall and put only necessary applications.

Same thing happen in veg 15 and veg 16 in VCE AMD rendering. I payed a lot for this machine that can rander FAST and I want to use gpu rendering. Sony avc render OK , but VCE stuck. here is youtube link to see the ptoblem. It was captured by camera. stop is at 6:33

    ADM Zagreb new PC
    PC AMD 2700x Radeon rx580 8gb
    Default bios settings
Reinstal Windows and all apps did non help solve problem.
Vegas pro 15 and 16 random AMD VCE rendering stop..
    hardware error in data flow?
Same thing happens in vegas 15 and vegas 16
It start render and random stop reading or writing files.
Rendering time continue to count, but frame count stop.
It is no freeze, no error, but can not cancel, need to end task in task manager.

    AMD 2700x

    32gb ram :

    2x Ballistix Sport LT Gray 16GB Kit (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 UDIMM
    BLS2K8G4D30BESBK

OS is on SSD 240gb kingston a400

power is Fractal Design Integra M 550w

Source files are on internal HDD 4TB WD Red, 3.5″, IntelliPower RPM, 64MB Cache, SATA3, WD40EFRX

I did another test: put source files on SSD and render destination on same SSD and that worked ok on VEG15
    ….

Another test is from external drive and that was ok too.. so problem is in internal drive WD RED 4TB, or cable connection or something else.. any ideas? It is almost brand new configuration, and worrany sealed, .. should I bring it to seller repair?

If it has a warranty and is sealed, that is what I would do. Take all you documentation to so them, and be prepared to also show them a demo of failure with your HHD compared to success with you SSD. Could be just a simple setting in Windows or another WD Red drive failure.

    A small update
It looks that my conclusion that it depends on source file location is wrong. Same problem happens when files are on external drive too.
I have set up frameserver and Handbrake..
it happen the same thing.. just random stop rendering.. and time continue to count. On Handbrake GPU usage is minimal and CPU is FULL
I have contacted seller and they said that they will check system. But it happen when im using Vegas pro 15 and 16 on complex rendering.. So they need to have that enviroment and task on. Can it be something with processor that it just stop render? My destination folder is on C dtive.. SSD
Any ideas are welcome bcz im freaking out ..out loud ..
    Thank you

How much free space is on your render destination drive. You should have at 2-3 times available space than your rendered file size.

There is always much more free space than that.. on any destination drive

To resume this thread.. more info..
After many days of elimination issues process they said that problem was caused by cpu 2700x – rx5800 interaction.. no matter is it gpu rendering or cpu only.. so strange…
So… now rx580 is replaced with Nvidia 1060 and for now there is no rendering stops

Sounds like a “bad” driver update problem with you rx580 ! The latest amd drivers has also given problems with rx580 and Davinci Resolve !

So is there a solution for bad driver issue?
Somehow i like more amd than nvidia.. but maybe it is just my personal feeling
