    @Firdaus Aziz,

As far as I can tell I’ve complied with the requirements. I’ve Printed to tape thro VP7 To VP10 without problem.

The template is mainconcept (mpeg2) and either HDV1080-50i or
HDV1080-60i depending whether one is working in PAL or NTSC

However; surely a VP10 project that Prints OK and is saved as a .veg file and then opened in VP11. This project now viewed in VP11 should be an exact replica of a project that functioned in VP10.
This was how I first found that VP11 would not ‘print to HDV tape.

I live in PAL land but have borrowed a NTSC camcorder in case the problem was perculiar to PAL only

    Steve: Wish I was.
    Tests.
HDV (tape) m2t files captured from the camera and dropped on a matched timeline and selected.
Tools>Print to HDV tape selected. (delete rendered file unchecked). Timeline renders out, camera swichtes into record mode, tape rolls but viewing screen (on camcorder)remains blue.

Repeat test using same clips but in VP10. Again clips render out but this time the file is correctley written to tape.

Whilst still in VP10 try printing the file prepared by VP11 in first test.
The message The file type is unknown: C:\******\’Print 11 to tape.m2t’ is displayed

Back to VP11 try printing back the file rendered out by VP10.
    This prints to tape correctly.

Strange thing is that I can put the file rendered in VP11 onto a timeline in VP10 and render out from here. No recompression reqired is displayed and file prints down to HDV tape

There appears to be something wrong with the file prepared for tape in VP11. Repeatable on 2 pc’s using same HDR-HC3 camcorder.

This has been reported to SCS

If you can suggest any other tests I’d be delighted to get this solved.

Still won’t ‘Print to HDV tape’

VP11 Capture HDV from tape, add files to matched timeline and Print to HDV to tape. Timeline renders out but does not print to tape.

VP10: Add captured clips from above and Print HDV to tape.
    Works every time.
Now reopen VP11 and print the file rendered out in VP10. Again works every time.

However; VP10 cannot print the rendered m2t file prepared in VP11 back to tape.

2 updates and a basic feature still not working!!

Vegas Support is a tad slow, maybe they are overloaded.

Cineform: No problems importing Neoscene .avi to the timline, there is however a minor problem in that the par is wrong. In my case 1.0 instead of 1.33. This is easily corrected with a script.
I have it from cineform that version 5.5.4 is the last version and no further development is expected.

November 8, 2011 at 4:56 pm in reply to: Remove new ‘NBTitler’ from VP10

Am currently using onboard graphics (asus p8Z68 v pro).

Graphics driver up to date but graphics are Intel.
I understand Intel have not got things quite correct.

Will wait 6 months an then add a suitable graphics card.

In the mean time I have uninstalled NBTitler.

    Hi Edward,

That would be much appreciated. It really is a nuiscance at present.

I’m sure that there are many users like myself who are well aware of their graphics card limitation and are waiting to see which nVidia cards are really suitable without breaking the bank.

I also have a cineform issue with VP11 (not cineform’s problem however) so staying with VP10 for the time being but testing/familarising with VP11 ready for a later changeover.

    Once again thanks Geoff C

July 29, 2011 at 6:54 pm in reply to: Cannot update my DVD Arcitect 5.0

DVDA 5.2 came as part of the update package from say VP9 (or earlier) to VP10. New serials were provided for VP10 & DVDA5.2.

If you get DVDA5v2 up and running & then uninstall DVDA5v0 you will take out DVDA5v2 as well and need to reinstall DVDA5v2.

    I believe DVDA5v2 is an upgrade not a revision/update.

  • You can reset this by selecting Tools-> preferences menu whilst holding the “shift” key.

You will see an extra tab called “internal” if you type “capture” into the “Show only prefs containing” box you will see an option called “Ask about capture app”. If this is set to “FALSE” change it to “TRUE” (the default setting) click apply then OK.

The Capture Video command should now behave as before, asking you if you want to capture DV or HDV.

I had a similar problem. Credit to ‘MacVista’ on SCS forums who provided this solution.

Had a similar problem with W7 beta. HDV could not be captured but SD could.
Found this solution on a W7 forum
•Go to Device Manager and click on IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers
•Click on the device listed underneath this heading. In my case it was NEC 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller
•Right click this device and select ‘update driver software’ from the shortcut menu
•Then select the option ‘browse my computer for driver software’
•Then select the option ‘let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer’
•This then gave me three drivers to pick from (make sure the’show compatible hardware’ checkbox is ticked
•Select the driver named ‘1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (Legacy)’
    •Install driver

    This worked.

HDV does not show up in the preview window, you need to use the camcorder screen. SD will show in the preview screen.

November 22, 2009 at 4:14 pm in reply to: Hdv render problem

    Problem solved

    File->Project Properties

    Changed
    1) Full-resolution rendereing from Good to Best.
    No visible improvement

    2) Change Deinterlace method from None to Interpolate fields.
    This later changed fixed things.

I knew the field order was swapped between HDV & DV. It didn’t occur to me that I would need to instruct Vegas to carry out this change whilst rendering down.

Too much time spent with Avid!
