    Hey folks :

Just got Vegas Pro 9.0c and I’m having a strange issue when trying to capture in HD.

I click “Capture Video” – it recognizes the attached device – the VCR control buttons work (pause, play, rewind, etc.) – the camera reads “HDVout” as it plays – but no video appears in the preview and no data is captured when the “record” button is pressed.

    Any one have any ideas?

Had a similar problem with W7 beta. HDV could not be captured but SD could.
Found this solution on a W7 forum
•Go to Device Manager and click on IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers
•Click on the device listed underneath this heading. In my case it was NEC 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller
•Right click this device and select ‘update driver software’ from the shortcut menu
•Then select the option ‘browse my computer for driver software’
•Then select the option ‘let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer’
•This then gave me three drivers to pick from (make sure the’show compatible hardware’ checkbox is ticked
•Select the driver named ‘1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (Legacy)’
    •Install driver

    This worked.

HDV does not show up in the preview window, you need to use the camcorder screen. SD will show in the preview screen.

    Thanks for your quick reply!

I followed your instructions, but still no dice.

I know the camera is functioning propperly because I used it with my old system, just with 7.0 (and windows xp).

I’m becoming pretty sure it’s a win 7 issue, just don’t really know how to proceed.
