Other possible considerations when dealing with Component Analog, would be how all cables in the path are terminated. All coax in this loop needs to be terminated with .1% tolerance terminations. These can drift or even be manufactured out of tolerance. A very slight (half an ohm difference out of 75 ohm)can add subtle color variations in this path. This implies also that all cables are perfect (no tolerance for poor crimp connectors). Monitors with built in terminations are notorious culprits for screwing up this path.
PS I have to agree with Bob Z… Even Sony BVM $10,000 so called production monitors exhibited an ever so slight green tint using their $2000 calibration probe, and the best of Tektronix test equipment.Gene Colburn

I have made several posts about this motherboard on this forum. It does not work well with MB Extreme, as do none of the SLI motherboards we have tested, and beleive me we have done a bunch. Were it me, I would cut my loses and move on to some other solution. The Nvidia chipset will not reallocate resources to the PCIexpress bus for this device with a coexistant PCIe graphics card. You could make it work with a PCI graphics card and leave nothing else on the PCI express slots. That was about the only we were able to get it working. If somebody has a good solution to this problem, I would love to hear it.GC

It shoud be at the right bottom of your screen. An Icon that looks like a Speaker. If you right click it you should be able to call up a window that gives you the mute function for the input you are using. You can also open up control panel, and find the same settings under the sound icon.

What version of Premiere are you using. Later versions of media player will play the AVI as well as Encore 1.0 and above. Are you exporting to your system hard drive, or do you have a second AV drive? Are your drives NTFS, or FAT32? It could be several Hardware issues as well. If you haven’t already done so, you might try and encode to an m2v file out of Premiere and take into Encore as an Asset, instead of the AVI.

If I’m reading your post correctly, I think you missed something about multicam editing. The purpose of syncing the cameras is to allow you to easily switch cameras from the multicam view. You can always go back to that timeline view, and select a different camera shot without worring about ins and outs. You can also go back to the sequence after switch and change transition paramaters. Where I beleive you got into trouble is by having multiple takes after syncing cameras with handclap. If you did not leave all of the cameras rolling during the record times, each camera would need to be clapped for multiple takes. Maybe you did that, but I,m not sure.

Nice system.. I think, but have not used dual core opterons yet. Premiere will only see two core cpu’s. which is the most multi-thread capability it sees. The extra cores using 2 dual core cpu’s are redundant. Unlike Linux, or OSX, XP suffers from the same shortcomings. I am not sure about your system, but this hotfix helps with two single core systems. MS at one time posted it, but I guess now you have to jump through hoops to get it. -
Interesting thread. I was actually hoping Apple, or god forbid… Microsoft… would release a version of OSX that would run on my dual opteron systems. Then I would be happy.

I have,nt had to resort to anytning that extreme. If you do a complete uninstall and reinstall you won’t loose your project files, but you will most likely loose your history and project archive files, unless you bak them up. I do not think however this is a Premiere issue. Its most likely some other hardware issue, or have you recently done anything that would alter the codec files. Such as install and uninstall some trial multi-media software that altered them? In that case reinstall of Premiere should fix it. What capture card if any are you using. Perhaps its as simple as uninstall, and reinstall of those drivers.

We have two PPro systems. One uses Multibridge extreme, the other is a dv editor. The dv editor is the one that we did the multicam edit on with printed EDL’s. It was all shot DVCAM. Also this edit was capatured full with no TC Breaks as all cameras shot continuously with exception of one roaming camera. But we had no timecode issues with it either. I have not seen any TC issues with the decklink system though. Are you seeing TC issues with SDI and RS 422 control?
