It will look like that if you have your preview quality set to auto (or a lower rez).

Are you rendering to a new track and playing back both the original and rendered audio?

If there is another section of the same media in the project, it’s probably just a quirk of the sync feature, and nothing to worry about.

You could copy the event with the pan settings and Paste Attributes to a different event.

This is a limitation of nested veg files. They do not work with sourround sound.
