Are you rendering to a new track and playing back both the original and rendered audio?

I use Vegas 5’s Capture Video/Print to Tape.

Actually, the AVI file itself is over 0db! Not just the Tape.

One thing to remember – digital 0 (what you see in Vegas) is higher than analog 0 (what you’re probably seeing on the output).

Well, it’s distorting! I thought Analog was more forgiving than Digital! So how do I make sure I’m not going over?

If it’s distorting, then you’re probably going over 0 in Vegas. Check all the things Gary mentioned.

Why are you rendering first to print to tape? Just PTT directly from the vegas timeline.

I tried that, but I was getting an Error Message! I’ve Printed to Tape from the Timeline many times before, but apparently, if the Project is too complex and long, it doesn’t work! So it was recommended by Sony to do it this way. I guess I just have to lower the Volume when doing this. Thanks.
