I create surround projects. Some are very large. So it is a good idea to create subprojects and put them together in the timeline to the complete project afterwards.

This works quite well with 2 audio channel projects but seems to be impossible with 4 audio tracks for the four audio channels of my recordings. The result is that only the 2 back channels are added to the new project if I add a 4 channel veg to the time line. It is like this:

    VEG1

    video track
    audio track for front left
    audio track for front right
    audio track for rear left
    audio track for rear right

This VEG1 into a new project results in

    video track
audio track with rear left (in left channel) and rear right (in right channel)

    Do I do anything wrong?

This is a limitation of nested veg files. They do not work with sourround sound.

Thank you a lot! So I can stop guessing and have to continue with my huge projects in 1 timeline :-((((

This question was posed about Vegas 6. We’re now on Vegas 8 and as far as I can see there is still no support for surround sound in nested projects. Please someone tell me I’m wrong.
