1)After you make changes, then save the reference project, the nested veg. will update in your master project. If it is a different length, then a notch will appear along the top edge of the event to indicate the new boundary. Just trim the edge to the notch.
2) You can tell if any media that is/was part of your project is currently on the timeline by checking the details view of the Project Media Tab. The second column is Use Count. Anyhing with a 0 is not on the timeline. You can sort by this heading to group all with the same use count.
Also, Excalibur has a Find Unused tool that will create a new track and place all your unused media on it.

Start a new project and choose Single Movie. After you select the media, point its end action to itself.

You can do that with a highlight mask.

You can save your current choices by saving them as a theme.
File > Export menu as theme.
To apply it later to a menu you are working on, go to the theme tab and double-click on the theme you saved.

Can’t you just attach the hard drive to each computer as needed and transfer from/to each system that way? Better yet would be to network the computers.

Add the lens flare to the top track.
In the FX dialog, make sure you hit the pre/post toggle next to the FX name to the left of the keyframe controller, so the arrow points to thr right.Make each other track you want to effect a compositing child of that track.

You cannot create a higher resolution than waht you are starting with, so making the image bigger is not a good approach. If you want widescreen, then you can mask the top and bottom.

DVDA 3 will not allow you to do this. DVDA 4 has more options for programming macros.
