Preview to external monitor is for another computer monitor that is hooked up to the video card. To monitor on standard definition NTSC, you would go out via firewire and transcode the digital signal to composite or component.

Create two menu pages exactly alike (easy with cut and paste)except the Welcome button on the welcome page is a link to ‘instructions’ menu page with the Instructions button in the same place.

If you want a very good and relatively inexpensove solution for monitoring HDV, then get a good wide screen computer LCD monitor and use a video card with DVI out (2 x DVI if you want it for your main monitor as well.

You should probably be encoding the audio to a separate AC3 file unless you have a special reason not to.

If it’s a repeated click like a metronome, that IS important, because it indicates that you are running in trial mode.

If it’s a single click, zoom way in and see if there’s something amiss with your audio, especially a leftover bit that’s on a separate track or even on the same track.

You would do this with end actions, but I don’t believe that feature appeared until DVDA2.

Any DVD player should have a repeat function to do what you are after.
